Introducing the HeartFELT Hugs!

Handcrafted with love by our dear friend Wendy Martin, each Hug is unique but all are made from the luxurious Greenbank Zwartbles felted fleece. These Pocket Hugs are thoughtfully themed to match each individual horse's colours.  On the outside of the Hug is another smaller hug stitched with tail hairs from the beautiul Friesians. You can carry a 'HeartFELT hug' from your favourite horse with you everywhere you go.

Those labelled 'Black Horses' are in the yard colours of Black & Gold.

A little history

Our great friend and fellow Friesian lover, Wendy Martin, is a hugely talented artist and has lovingly hand-felted unique Clutch Bags, Scarves and Pocket hugs using the wool from our small family of Zwartble sheep to help raise funds for our Sanctuary.

After the sheep are sheared, the fleeces were professionally scoured and carded to produce soft and springy roving, ideal for felting.  he rich dark chocolate / black wool is flecked with occasional white.

Each creation includes some of this beautiful fleece, a variety of yarns, fabrics and other embellishments. Every piece is inspired by the individually-expressed colours of each horse in our Friesian family.
