Each set of shoes lasts the horses 6 weeks
Fully shod - 8.6 sets of shoes per year
 
We are great believers in having our horses as natural as possible and would love for this to include having them all 'barefoot'.
 
However, because our farm is built on rock we have found over the years this causes damage to their feet (no matter how strong they are) that can be avoided with the use of shoes.
 
Our farrier, Chris Milby has been looking after our horses hooves for 17 years and comes to the farm most weeks as there is always someone who's hooves need attention!
 
All our horses have at least front shoes on and those in full training or carriage driving have a full set.
