In the main barn, we use shavings for the bedding in the three stables which is clean and dust free.
 
We also use straw pellets in the base as they are great for absorbing  liquid and keeping it in a small area.  As the barn is built into the rock unfortunately when the rain is particularly heavy it comes up through the floor meaning the boxes get wetter than they should.  By using the wood pellets it helps us keep the beds as dry as possible.
 
A full pallet of wood pellets is £422.50 and lasts approximately 3 months.
 
The long term plan is to have the floors screeded and sealed rubber mats in place to prevent the water rising through the floors.  This will be done as part of the 110k fundraising campaign
