Ysbrand became a permanent sanctuary resident at Greenbank Farm in 200 along with his pal, Wybren ("Teddy Bear", RIP).

A loveable but cheeky little guy, Ice exudes an air of confidence and breezes through life in a self-assured manner. He can put up a bit of a bolshy exterior, making out that he's a bit of a 'Jack the Lad', but this is all a front. He's really a bit of a softy and loves cuddles, scratches and being adored.

Ice looks forward to spending time with his mum, Jodie, whether doing groundwork at trainer Mel's or hacking out through the village.

During 2024, Ysbrand dealt with what a scope procedure revealed was stomach ulcers. With the help of our supporters, we were able to give him best treatment including medication and supportive supplements. As well, we changed to an all-natural, no-filler feed for the entire herd this year which seems to have had a positive effect on everyone, including Ice. A recent recheck shows he has healed, but in order to avoid what seems a propensity for him, we will keep him on the probiotic supplement indefinitely.
