FRIESIAN FOSTER PROGRAMME

Friesian Experience Black Horses

Tracey has always been very mindful of the limits that must be respected in order to provide best care for the horses already on the Farm. From the amount of haylage we can produce to the size of our Core Team--unless we have space to accommodate, we would have to turn away temporary care of a Friesian for an owner in need.

Friesian Experience Black Horses

The Friesian Foster Programme was started to provide other options when we couldn’t accommodate at Greenbank Farm. Friesian owners who share our ethos around care and wellness form a network of individuals willing to foster for varying lengths of time. Any time a horse or horses are placed, we stay in touch with their fosterers as a resource for any issues that might arise and to consult on care. Our friend, volunteer, and knowledgeable horsewoman, Jane Holden, supports the programme by being available to visit our fosterers which is of great mutual benefit in assessing and addressing any issue. Doing so, especially with foster homes at a distance, would be difficult for Tracey to do personally given her 24/7/365 care of the horses and oversight of the Experiences.
